Meet Reena and Vimal. This is a couple whom I met through my wife a few years ago. Reena happens to be a good friend of my wife’s and was actually a bridesmaid at our wedding. What an amazing ceremony this was! Starting with the location of the hotel in Portsmouth, VA to the details of the reception, everything was absolutely jaw dropping. Reena emailed me a few weeks before their ceremony to ask if I would mind photographing their event. I was already attending as a guest so it was definitely not a problem for me. I had a great time capturing their event while mingling with other friends. Can’t wait for the wedding!
The day before Rupa and Kris’s wedding they came up to me and told me that they didn’t have any engagement pictures taken of them. They wanted a few shots to display at the reception near the guestbook and in a slideshow. So we went out the morning before the wedding day and took a few shots. The wedding actually took place in Kansas (even though they’re both from California) and it was a pretty chilly morning, but they braved through it . We grabbed a quick breakfast at Starbucks and headed to a local park and then to downtown Topeka. We were a bit rushed because Rupa had to get back to start putting on henna for the wedding, but overall everything worked out great! Their wedding was fantastic and they were able to incorporate these shots into the slideshow. Stay tuned for an update with some shots from the wedding.

A little while ago I attended the wedding of Jayna and Grant. Jayna is actually my wife’s cousin, so it was a family wedding for us. All of the wedding festivities were held in various areas of Kansas City. I had such a good time there because we got to see a lot of close family and friends that we hadn’t seen in a while. Here are some shots from their wedding. Congratulations to Jayna and Grant! Wish you a lifetime of happiness!

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to attend a workshop held by Terra Dawn Chandler of Terra Dawn Photography. It was held at the Black Horse Inn in Warrenton, VA. I have to say, I learned so much at the workshop and met some great photographers. We had a presentation session in the morning and afternoon and then we got to go out and shoot an awesome couple. There were a ton of vendors which helped to set up this shoot and I have listed them below. I can’t wait for Terra to have another workshop. I would definitely recommend her workshops to all photographers. Here are some of the photos from the day.
I want to say thank you to all of the vendors that helped to put on this great shoot. Here’s the list:
- Lynn from The Black Horse Inn
- Pam and Anne from A Trendy Wedding
- Holly from Holly Chapple Flowers
- Maureen from Blush Bridal
- Rachelle from Dominion Jewelers
- Capital Decor
- Kendall Cakes
- Occasions Catering
- Etsy Vendor
- Joe for the great blue truck
- Terra, Leo, and Mike for the great workshop
- Abby and Matt for being such great models. Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I’ve know Nipa and Mitul for a while now, so when they asked me to take some photos of them for the wedding guestbook I was pretty excited. They are getting married in Newport Beach, CA in May. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it out to their wedding, which was a huge bummer. These two were definitely troopers for braving the cold morning out in Washington, DC. It was actually pretty funny, because Nipa would bundle up in her coat between locations, while Mitul kept us entertained with his goofyness. I’m glad to say that I’ll be able to attend their reception down in South Carolina. I can’t wait!
